| Resumo | Remote sensing is an indispensable tool for the study of land surveying and monitoring, especially because these techniques contribute significantly to the speed, efficiency and reliability of the analyzes. The process of pixel resampling, performed during pre-processing of the image, can increase or decrease spatial image resolution, which may reduce certain image inconsistencies and improve the quality information. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of pixel resampling on the characterization of the vegetation cover in the county of Palmeiras de Goiás GO from spectral analyzes of LandSat 8 - OLI satellite images by means of remote sensing and GIS techniques, applying the calculation of the vegetation index (Normalized Difference Vegetation Index - NDVI) and the supervised classification of false-color combination of bands (R6B5G4). The resampling did not affect the maximum, minimum and mean NDVI values, but it showed benefits for improving the identification of area targets in the process of supervised classification of images. The thematic maps originated from NDVI and supervisioned classification, with or without resampling, showed great similarity among themselves. The maps allowed detecting and separating into different classes the vegetation cover in the studied region. |
